Becoming a Partner with the SPLC

As a not-for-profit organization, the Student Press Law Center is entirely dependent on donations from interested individuals and organizations who are committed to its work. Nearly half of the SPLC's annual budget comes directly from student journalists and journalism advisers who believe in the SPLC mission. Contributions to the SPLC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, are tax-deductible.

To make a secure online contribution using your credit card, please visit our donor page at NetworkForGood.org. (Contributions can be made in honor or in memory of the individual(s) of your choice as well.)

Giving opportunities

In addition to supporting the ongoing operating costs of the SPLC, givers can contribute to specific SPLC programs:

  • Sponsor a school

For a donation of $200, the SPLC will give a two-year sponsored membership to the school or college of your choice. Be true to your school and join our friends at Fletcher, Heald & Hildredth, LLC, Holland & Knight LLP, Alston & Bird, LLP, Greenberg Traurig, LLP, Dechert, LLP, and Folawn Alterman & Richardson, LLP in giving the gift of SPLC membership.

  • Underwrite a college journalism internship

For a gift of $3,000, you or your firm can become the named sponsor of an SPLC college journalism internship. SPLC alumni are reporting for top media outlets across the country and practicing at America's best media-law firms. You can give a deserving and grateful college student a head start toward success in law or journalism by underwriting a semester-long internship.

  • Become a presenting sponsor of the SPLC website, Report magazine, or News Flash feed

Flexible sponsorship packages are available to make sure that your message is visible and appreciated by the thousands of viewers and subscribers who value the work of the SPLC. For details, contact our Development and Communications Consultant, Beverly Keneagy.

  • Make a testamentary gift to the SPLC

The SPLC Endowment Fund will help keep the Center thriving for generations to come. Your testamentary gift to the Endowment will show your enduring faith in the power of uncensored student voices.
