Students at Lake Havasu High School will find themselves with a new journalism adviser next year following Dan Aston’s removal after four years as adviser to the student newspaper, Knight Life. Aston contends he was removed in large part over a disagreement with principal Denise Miner about acceptable content for the student paper, but Miner denies that claim.

For 33 years, students at Unionville High School in Kennett Square, Pa., have produced the award-winning Indian Post as their student newspaper – until last month. Following a dispute with school and district administrators over prior review, the student staff created and distributed an alternate, independent newspaper, The Outpost.
