Becoming a partner with the SPLC

Are you a high school or college journalist or adviser? Consider becoming a member of the Student Press Law Center. Memberships are also available for professional publications and organizations.

The SPLC has provided free legal help to newsrooms across the country for 40 years. Because of this, we rely on contributions from individuals who are passionate about student journalism and First Amendment rights.

Becoming a member is a great way to support the work of the SPLC. In addition to knowing that you are helping promote First Amendment rights and helping student journalists cover the issues they and their peers care about, you also receive some great benefits.

As a member you will receive:

  • A one year subscription to our magazine, the SPLC Report, with three issues per year
  • A members-only monthly Legal Alert which covers news and legal analysis
  • A $5 discount on any purchases of Law of the Student Press
  • The opportunity to schedule video Q&As with SPLC attorney guest lecturers
