Newspaper may be able to intervene in case

ILLINOIS -- A federal appellate court said in August that it will allow two state newspapers to argue that a settlement between Lake Land College and one of its former vice presidents should not be sealed.   The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit gave the Mattoon Journal Gazette and the Charleston Times-Courier another chance to prove to a district court that the information surrounding the settlement between the college and Goble Jessup, a former vice president, should be open to the public.
